USA BioTouch pigments are formulated with Iron Oxides which are known to be safe for cosmetic use, colorants, and micro pigmentation to the face and body. Because our pigments have more of these particles in every drop, they absorb into the skin much more effectively. The result is less fading and truer color.
Our pigments also have a different texture and quality. They do not dry out like most. The micro-fine particles used, along with Ethanol, allows the pigment to dry slower and keeps the mixture smooth, as the technician works with it.
Other brands of pigments boast of having organic compounds, but organic is not always the best choice. Allergies can be more common inorganic substances. Some people are allergic to vegetable dye, and pigments with vegetable dye are not stable. Some brands even use industrial colors similar to automobile paint! This can be dangerous and can cause an allergic reaction. In addition to iron oxides, our black shades are carbon-based, which has the same chemical makeup as what is naturally found in our bodies, so there is, even more, a precaution against any chances of an allergic reaction. To learn more about ingredients safe for cosmetic use, visit the iiiStyle.com / FDA website, your local governing agency, or county health department. Over 50,000 technicians use our products in 33 different countries daily.

Product Profile
BioGel, After Care
Many women are interested in permanent makeup, but wonder about how it might feel to get it done. We want customers to be excited about the whole experience! In order to minimize discomfort during the procedure, BioTouch has created a 2-step, topical pain relief system:
2 STEP TOPICAL SYSTEM
1) BioGel
Helps comfort the area, and has a coagulant to stop swelling or bleeding. Can be applied as needed during the procedure, and
again after the procedure is over.
2) AfterCare
Recommended to client for use in after care. Contains an anti-herpes agent and anti-oxidant to help prevent fever blisters, pain
relief, and to moisturize the pigmented area. Also has Vitamin A, E, and Aloe Vera to speed up the healing process.
The SPF 15 is for sun protection. BioStick can be used on the eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips after the procedure.
Additional Relief:
Celluvisc
Used before doing an eyeliner procedure, as an eye drop and protective film.
Bacitracin
Ointment used as an anti-inflammatory on the treated area after the procedure. Not recommended for use around eyes.
Essential Accessories:
Mouth Guard
Used to prevent anesthetics from getting into the mouth during a lip procedure, and helps to maintain firmness for more accurate
contouring.
Features That Make BioTouch Anesthetics The Best!
Fast-acting
Made with the highest effectiveness available without a prescription
Our anesthetics are created through a special cold process instead of a heat process. The cold process
is better than heat because the ingredients are combined more effectively.
Important Benefits:
Some clients may be more sensitive, excitable or very nervous. Once anesthetic is applied and they realize it does not hurt, and there is minimal swelling or bleeding, they tend to calm down. This makes it much easier to do the procedure!
FREE ADVERTISING!! If a client does not experience any discomfort during the procedure they are going to tell their friends, family and co-workers.
Repeat and referred clientele. Clients will hear of your pain free system and come back to you for touch-ups because they will remember all the pain their fist artist caused them.
Usage & Precautions
1. IMPORTANT! Check the client’s medical history form to see if they have any unusual allergic reactions to topical or local anesthetics.
2. Most clients will know what they are allergic to and can tell you. If there is concern that your client is allergic to something, get a medical release from their doctor, or don’t do the procedure at all.
3. Topical anesthetics are generally used for the following: to deaden the nerve endings in the skin (which affects only the surface), relieve pain and itching caused by conditions such as minor cuts, scratches, waxing, electrolysis, permanent makeup pigmentation, para-medical micropigmentation, body tattooing, post laser peels, and other pain sensitive procedures.
TIP- You can include AfterCare into the procedure price or have them purchase it separately as an aftercare item. Clients who have had any lip procedure done definitely need AfterCare to prevent blisters!
Most Importantly
The proper use of topical anesthetics can elevate patient comfort levels, compliance, and cooperation, thereby increasing confidence in our products and the technician!
• Do not use anesthetic sprays or runny/watery substances that will drip into and irritate the eyes.
• Skin tests are recommended, especially for clients who are not sure if they are allergic to something or if they have had reactions to previous anesthetics in the past. A simple test can be performed on the back of the ear, or top of the scalp, or inner corner of the mouth.
Scratch the anesthetic into the skin area with a one-prong needle. It is best to wait 48 hours to see if there are any reactions. Skin tests are not a 100% guarantee in determining allergy.
There is still a possibility of a reaction even if one did not appear when performing the skin test.
• On the Medical History form, also check to see if the client has allergies to any other substances such as foods,
ester type anesthetics (Tetracaine, Procaine, Benzocaine) or amide type anesthetics such as (Lidocaine, Prilocaine
and Dibucaine), preservatives or dyes, especially aminobenzoic acid (also called para-aminobenzoic acid
(PABA), to parabens, which is a preservative in many foods and medicines, or to paraphenylenedimiamine (a hair
dye). These allergies are especially important because if a customer has reactions to any of the listed they are
more likely to have a negative response to anesthetics.
NOTE: It is very important to let the client know to always wear sunscreen after the procedure to prevent fading and
changing of the color, but it is equally important to wear PABA free sunscreen because PABA can cause allergic reactions
and the client will think that they are having a reaction to the permanent makeup rather than the sunscreen.
It is important not to mix anesthetics from different companies because of different ingredients and the recipe may not react properly on the skin.
If there is any infection at or near the place of application and/or large sores, broken skin or severe injury at the area of application, chance of side effects will be increased.
Side effects to look for:
1. Swellings that look like hives on the skin, mouth or throat
*It is possible that the body may absorb too much, and although this is very rare, reactions may
include:
1. Blurred or double vision
2. Confusion
3. Convulsions (seizures)
4. Dizziness or lightheadedness
5. Drowsiness
6. Feeling hot, cold
7. Headache
8. Increased sweating
9. Ringing or buzzing in the ears
10. Shivering or trembling
11. Slow or irregular heartbeat
12. Troubled breathing
13. Unusual anxiety, excitement, nervousness or restlessness
14. Unusual paleness
15. Unusual tiredness or weakness
If the client continues to have an allergic reaction such as burning, stinging or tenderness, skin rash, redness, itching or hives, they will need to consult with their doctor.
FAQ’s
Q. Can permanent makeup and anesthetics be performed on pregnant or lactating women?
Answer: Although studies on effects in pregnancy have not been done in humans, there have been no
findings that anesthetics cause any problems in humans. Due to the lack of research, however, it is
recommended that pregnant or lactating women wait for permanent makeup. Pregnancy is very short term (9months), and lactation is usually short term also, so it is best to wait in order to prevent any possible problems.
In animal studies, Lidocaine has not been found to cause birth defects and/or other problems. Other
topical anesthetics have not been studied in animals.

1. What is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent Makeup, also called Cosmetic Tattooing or Micropigmentation, is the process of implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of a tiny, sterile, disposable needle to produce the appearance of cosmetic makeup.
2. What is the difference between Permanent Makeup and Body Tattooing?
The purpose of Permanent Makeup procedures at BioTouch Canada is to enhance our clients’ features, not necessarily create artwork that stands out (such as body tattoos). Permanent Makeup is softer and more subtle – it is meant to be a natural looking beauty enhancement. Body tattoos use ink, Permanent Makeup procedures involve only iron-oxide based pigments designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the technician to make changes to colour and shape over the years as client’s natural coloration and facial changes occur.
3. Does the Permanent procedure hurt?
A highly-effective, topical anesthetic cream and gel are used for numbing before and during your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure.
4. How safe is Permanent Makeup?
Each procedure is done under strict sanitation and sterilization rules. A well-trained, certified technician administers each new procedure using disposable needles and parts. All pigments are iron-oxide based and contain FDA approved ingredients for cosmetic use.
5. What are the pigments made of?
BioTouch pigments come in a variety of colors specially formulated with iron oxide, an ingredient safe for the skin. We do not use pigments made from organic ingredients, such as vegetables as they have a high risk of carrying bacteria and causing allergic reactions. Because color is implanted just underneath the dermal layer of the skin, the resulting shade is soft and muted, unlike regular cosmetic makeup that sits on the surface of the skin.
6. What are the most common procedures requested?
The most common procedures performed are eyebrows, eyeliner, lips, and color corrections/camouflage. The color and shape are designed to match and complement the client’s features and complexion.
Eyebrows can be completely reconstructed in the absence of hair, or a few ‘hair’ strokes may be added to give added fullness to sparse areas – choose either a soft pencil appearance or natural feathering result. Permanent Makeup can enhance the natural features of the eyebrows with customized shaping. According to the shape of the person’s face and bone structure, Permanent Makeup can replace eyebrows that have lost their fullness with age and hair loss, or add defining tones to existing brows.
An eyeliner procedure adds pigment close to the lash line for definition to the lashes and contours of the eye. From a natural, softer or smudged look, to a dramatic look, the thickness and color of the line are customized for each client. Following eye surgeries for medical reasons we are able to re-establish balance and correct scars in the eye area.
Lip procedures most often requested are full lip color or lip liner. Natural lip lines can be corrected for asymmetries in shape or color as well as size. Lip liner can accentuate the lips by creating a more definite lip shape, enhancing the fullness and bringing more color to the lips. Individuals who suffer from having no definite lip shape, pale and gloomy lips, uneven lips or lips that have lost shape as a result of cold sores or injury can all benefit from this procedure. Please note that clients having a lip procedure done may require a prescription if they ever had cold sores/fever blisters/herpes on or around their lips.
Color Correction & Camouflages – Cosmetic tattooing can be used to correct faded and undesired color, as well as camouflaging of scars and re-pigmenting the areola and nipples.
7. Will my Permanent Makeup Eyebrows look natural?
Yes! Many of our clients report that friends and family members did not know they have had a procedure, although they do wonder why they are looking younger. We use soft natural tones on the brows that complement each client and re-create hair strokes that give the illusion of real hair.
8. What should I expect at the first appointment?
We provide a free consultation to all of our clients. You can arrange your consultation and procedure on separate days, or the same day. During your consultation, the technician will discuss your expectations and the ideal shape and color you are looking to achieve. The technician will do a make-up design preview to give you an idea of how you will look after the procedure, as well as offer some alternative style suggestions.
9. How long does Permanent Makeup last?
The treatment is permanent and will not wash off. However, it will fade over time and may need a retouch every 1- 5 years. Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including: the pigment color used (lighter colors fade faster), lifestyle (sun exposure), iron deficiency (your body absorbs iron-oxide as a supplement), and if any chemical peels come into contact with treated areas.
Touch-ups are normal for Permanent Makeup procedures, with each new procedure requiring 2 visits. The initial procedure followed by a free touch-up procedure about 2 months later. Lips may require one additional appointment.
10. What should I do before my procedure?
For lips: If you have EVER had cold sores/fever blisters/herpes on or around your lips, you MUST obtain a prescription from your doctor and inform him/her that your intention is to have a lip tattoo. Start taking it 3 days before and 4 days after the procedure (or follow the doctor’s instruction). Failure to take this anti-viral medication may well cause an outbreak, which in turn will compromise the results of your lip procedure.
For eyeliner: Wear your regular glasses instead of your contact lenses. Do not wear mascara (especially water-proof mascara, because this is more difficult to remove, and doing so will cause the eyes to be more irritated and sensitive).
For eyebrows: If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, bring reference photos and eyebrow pencil or powder.
If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan this trip a minimum 10 days after the procedure. We also request our clients avoid prescription blood thinners (if possible) for 24 hours prior to their appointment. This also includes Vitamin E, Aspirin and Alcohol.
11. How will I look immediately after? What is the healing process?
Your permanent makeup will appear darker and bigger than expected for the first few days. This will gradually lighten over the course of a week.
Eyeliner: Expect that your eyes will be swollen for up to 3 days (like how you would look after crying). Some careful maintenance is required to make the swelling go down faster.
Eyebrows: Your eyebrows will appear thicker and much darker for up to 5 days post procedure until any scab peels off. The area may also be reddish and tender, so be gentle with your skin during the healing process and keep applying the aftercare product provided.
Lips: Your lips will look very intense as well as become swollen for 2-4 days, depending on the individual. Usually the scab will peel off after 4-6 days. During this time, the color will look quite pale, only the lip line will show a light color. Be patient at this time until the skin matures which will take about 1-2 months until you can see a more natural result.
12. What should I do after the procedure?
We provide very specific post-care instructions after your procedure. It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a good healing process and to achieve the best results. The most essential aftercare is to keep the treated area moist, do not rub or pick as the color will peel off, and avoid extreme heat (like in saunas, Jacuzzis, steam rooms, places with hot humidity). For the lips, keep using the aftercare product provided to you (as a regular lip balm) to make the color last longer.
13. How will my permanent makeup look in the future?
We always analyze our client’s skin undertone to anticipate how pigment colors will fade in the future, and we mix special formulas to ensure color remains in the same tone. For the majority of our clients, their Permanent Makeup stays in the ideal and true color. There are some cases however, which make colors fade to different tones according to the individual’s response to the pigments (like skin tone and iron deficiencies). Many factors affect these changes, in your follow up appointment we analyze how your body has responded to the initial color. Special formula alteration to correct the color and to prevent further color change is made at this time.
14. What should I know about long term care?
A good sunscreen applied daily on tattooed area(s) is needed to help keep color true. Sun exposure will make the color fade faster.
Our pigment is iron-oxide based. Your body absorb it as mineral irons, so the color will fade over time. You may need a touch-up every 1- 5 years. The fading speed depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment color used, broken capillaries, iron deficiency, and if any chemical peels were done after Permanent Makeup.
If you are planning a chemical peel, MRI or other medical procedure, please inform the technician that you have had an iron-oxide cosmetic tattoo. Careful application must be taken to avoid affecting the tattooed area.
If you are planning to have laser treatments, tell your laser specialist to avoid the pigmented area. Laser may cause pigment to turn black.
15. How do I find the right Permanent Makeup Artist to do my Permanent Makeup?
It is so important to have a skilled Permanent Makeup Technician perform these procedures otherwise you may end up with a permanent mistake! The time and expense related with repairing poor quality work are simply not worth it.
1. Find an experienced technician.
2. Have a consultation first:
- Is the place clean and safe?
- Are the needles and accessories disposable?
- Does the shape and design work have artistic taste?
3. Look at non-decorated pictures of the technician’s work.
4. Ask for references.
